Overall Satisfaction with LastPass

Our entire organization uses Lastpass to manage our passwords. I also use Lastpass for my personal password management. For our company, it helps ensure all of our accounts are secured as much as possible. It also allows our leadership team to have access to everyone's passwords in case they need to login to an account while an employee is out of the office.
  • Their Chrome extension is super easy to use and a very fast way to save passwords. It automatically prompts you to save a password you've entered while in Chrome, which is very helpful rather than having to remember to manually enter all passwords.
  • Lastpass has a vault where you can access all of your passwords at any time. The vault is very user-friendly and allows you to edit the settings on various passwords in case you need to share them with another user.
  • Lastpass also has the ability to save billing data and other secure information outside of just passwords.
  • The Chrome extension and actual app can sometimes be a tad slow. They could make internal improvements to increase the speed of saving passwords and accessing the vault.
  • The Chrome extension will sometimes ask to save a password that is already saved in my vault. Seems like there could be some improvements here where the app can detect this and avoid prompting the user to save an existing password.
  • If a website has you enter the username on one page and the password on the next page, Lastpass does not seem to be able to detect this data and save both username and password to input separately when accessing the website again in the future.
  • It's helped me organize my multiple passwords for different websites which saves me time when needing to quickly access various accounts.
  • It allows me to share passwords with other Lastpass users, which has come in handy if I've been out of the office or not able to login to an account for urgent needs.
  • For employees who have left the company, it allows our leadership team to still access those needed passwords for various accounts.
I have not personally used 1Password or any other password managers to compare outside of Google Chrome's password saving feature, but based on the features Lastpass provides for their free account, it was the best option. Also, considering our CTO at our company requires our entire staff to use Lastpass, it seems like the best and most secure option.
Lastpass is great for someone like me who needs to manage multiple logins for clients and my personal accounts. It may be a bit unnecessary for someone who tends to not have too many passwords to remember. It is also great for desktop use, but via mobile Lastpass is not ideal. It's usable, but I prefer using it to access passwords on desktop rather than mobile if I have the option.
