Overall Satisfaction with LinkedIn Jobs
LinkedIn Jobs is like the "Who's who" of job searches. My experience with it from a user searching for a job opportunity has been a great experience because the platform allows me to not only understand what the role of a job opportunity is (this is common on most platforms) but Jobs, it feels like you already put your best foot forward because it's not just a resume the recruiter is looking at but rather your professional social media profile. Yes, you can apply for a position and not hear back, but having the InMail options access to others within the company through the connections is a great tool to help get your resume in front of the right people.
Pros
- Full transparency to the hiring team
- Algorithm suggests which positions your skillset is a good match with
- location based and job profile recommendations
- In-Mail options for users who are active on LinkedIn with a premium membership
Cons
- Like any other job site, feedback from recruiter can lack
- I actually noticed some fake job postings, which can be a scam and steal personal info
- I don't understand what the benefit is of showing how many people have applied for a position- it may be a better idea to just indicate that a specific job opportunity is very active but no need to count the # of resumes submitted
- Easy to use
- More transparency around the company and teams hiring
- Can quickly apply using the Easy Apply option
- Received interview opportunities from multiple mortgage companies
- The connections to the companies hiring are a significant advantage to some while others do not have any advantage
- Even if you do not get a certain position, your connection to that recruiter or hiring manager can help you connect down the line
Indeed is simply a blind job posting board whereas LinkedIn Jobs has more transparency. LinkedIn is also better suited for professionals who may be looking for higher earning potential jobs whereas Indeed does have a lot of entry level followers tied to it. LinkedIn also serves as your cover letter and resume (although you should always upload both) where the recruiter can see your face, the brands and companies you associate with and any/all recommendations and posts you've placed within our area of expertise.
