Lucidchart: A very pleasant first experience
Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart
My company has licenses for our entire Engineering department to use Lucidchart. The solution was to provide a centralized location for Engineers to share and collaborate on many different diagrams, charts, and process flows. Previously we were decentralized and had no good way to collaborate on technical diagrams. We also had too much inconsistency between our diagrams, with each Engineer producing a different style and format (by using different diagraming software). Lucidchart has solved many of these problems and has helped our Engineers convey a more professional, cohesive appearance.
Pros
- Sharing and collaboration of technical diagrams
- Provides many styles and templates which match most use-cases
- Easy to use, intuitive
Cons
- Better filtering, sorting, and grouping of diagram elements
- More friendly and easier to understand menu presentation
- Easier to use interface for browsing templates
- Time saved
- Improved team collaboration
- Improved professionality
While this feature may prove helpful to other organizations, to mine it was not very practical. It was helpful to link our Atlassian Confluence pages with Lucidchart diagrams, but we are not currently using any of the other integrations. I could see a use-case for us to integrate with Slack and Gitlab, but unfortunately, the value gained is not worth it in our situation.
