Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

Lucidchart is an incredible easy to use product, you will immediately find your way into the platform, especially if you are familiar with building diagrams and charts. Besides the fast and clean way of building charts, the platform has also a very good document management system. You are easily able to locate and manage various saved documents, export them to various formats (like pdf) or share them across your organization.
While expanding our reservations and payments modules, we really felt the need of modelling our business rules into some clear and flexible diagrams and charts, which should be easy to understand and to adjust. We had to somehow bridge the gap between R&D and Business departments, to find a common language for our processes. And Lucidchart come to the rescue!

Pros

  • It it very flexible when choosing various diagram types, easy to use and intuitive
  • It comes with lots of templates (industry related) and with smart suggestions
  • Diagrams are easy to adjust, to export and to share with other people
  • It remembers all the shapes you were predominantly use to create diagrams, for quick access

Cons

  • Sometimes it's not very easy to find the desired shape from the search panel, so maybe some auto-suggested results will become handier for the user
  • We improved productivity and overall quality of our payments platform by having clear business flows modeled into technical flowcharts which were able to always reflect the bigger picture
  • We were able to get a fast and clear feedback from our business department
  • We manage to track upfront some pitfall scenarios in our implementation and correct them before reaching the customer side
We are internally using Confluence as well, for our technical documentation, so the integration of Lucidchart with Atlassian products will be very handy for us, in linking some chart diagrams directly in our Confluence pages. We also use Slack as our main communication tool, so we see this integration as an opportunity to get real-time notification about the updates of the charts
So far, our integration with support team of Lucidchart was minimal. We did not encounter any issues and we were able to manage clearly our documents and diagrams. But it's very positive that Lucidchart has a dedicated platform for opening service ticks, and that you can track the status of your requests from the profile page directly.

I have previously [used] some other chart tools, but what makes Lucidchart the proffered one is the simplicity and the efficiency of using it. The existing templates were really helpful, first of all because I understood better what type of diagram suits better our needs, and also it really speeds up the work just by customizing that template. Duplicating a document was another powerful feature that helped me improve the productivity, and the fact that you can simply take diagrams blocks from one document and reuse them in another one (via copy/paste) it's just a lifesaver!

Based on the flexibility of the charts, you can use Lucidchart for almost everything. We started using it in the Research and Development department for architectural, technical flowcharts and for UI layouts, but the plan is to expand through the business and sales departments for modelling sales processes and measuring customers satisfaction.
