Excellent Tool for a Big Company but Complicated for Newer Users
Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine Endpoint Central
We use Endpoint Central to be able to install, uninstall, and update software remotely to our employees throughout the company (we have about 35 employees total, mostly on site with some remote workers). Having all of our software published to the Self-Service Portal really helps us keep track of our work licensed software, and it's nice to have a remote place that any employee can install it to their own device without administrative privileges!
Pros
- Having quick replying customer support.
- Having multiple subscriptions catering to smaller or larger businesses
- Providing many free (or additional cost) tools to further manage endpoints and devices
- Having nice Summary graphs that visualize how many people are using which softwares (and many more graphs for other data points)
Cons
- Many support articles need more details in their solutions or more details in between steps.
- There needs to be an easier way to update the server rather than stopping server > Downloading new update file > browsing into the bin folder of the installed directory > executing UpdateManager.bat.
- Agent installation gets very buggy when trying to add computers to SoM. I wish error messages were more specific too when the agent fails to install to a device.
- Negative ROI in onboarrding/offboarding employees. Agent installatiion fails remotely too often that I only mannualy download the agent to the specific device. This does not help save time offboarding employees
- Positive ROI when onboarding employees. New devices are very easy to install the software we have published to the Self-Service Portal.
