Overall Satisfaction with MasterControl Quality Excellence

We use MasterControl to manage all of our documents, change controls, non-conformances, customer complaints, CAPAs, training documentation and monitoring, among other work-flows. Since MasterControl has the flexibility to create electronic forms, and work-flows, we migrate more of our paper systems to MasterControl every year. 100% of our personnel use MasterControl. We don't use the Manufacturing modules as our manufacturing is customized for each of our clients.

Pros

  • Document changes and revisions through collaborations.
  • Reporting and audit trails, accountability for tasks.
  • Managing recurring tasks.

Cons

  • Flexibility in training course structures.
  • Ability to attach non-document files such as videos and PowerPoints.
  • Flexible electronic batch records.
  • Flexible data reporting for varied employees.
  • MasterControl saves paper and storage.
  • MasterControl makes it easy to track project status and with whom the project sits.
  • MasterControl makes producing metrics possible due to imbedded reports.
MasterControl has a bit of a learning curve and the work-flows are not always intuitive, but they do preserve data integrity and documentation principles in an electronic system. From a data integrity point of view, the workflows make sense.

We are a 21CFR11 compliant company and need complete capture of all of our data without data loss. We have a broad training curriculum and MasterControl allows for setting up varied curricular paths. However, there is not the ability to create blocks of pre-requisites, or visibility of training task progress outside read and understand training. There is limited ability to assign open-ended assessments.
