Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure houses the infrastructure for public facing websites

Pros

  • Ability to scale out the environment
  • Easy to find the details of each resource cost
  • Ability to separate roles

Cons

  • The cost of each resource is easy to find but the amount is not as clear when it is first setup
  • Along lines of cost, the costs in “marketplace” should be included in the billing to Microsoft and not separate
  • We are able to scale up at any point within a very short period of time
It is very easy to get up to speed on the layout

Do you think Microsoft Azure delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Azure's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Azure live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Microsoft Azure go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Microsoft Azure again?

Yes

The ability to integrate it into other packages for project planning, PowerBi reporting and overall security makes it an easy decision

Using Microsoft Azure

10000 - IT, DevOps. Project Managers, Scrum Master and Infrastructure Engineers use Azure Portal to keep projects on track. Azure has the ability to have full pipeline, repos, infrastructure, sprint planning, as well as the ability to add any resources that could be beneficial. The idea of one source that talks to everything is Azure
500 - A person new to this field would easily be able to adapt to its makeup. It does require the ability to understand operating systems as a whole as well as permission groups within it. For the most part, it is quite easy to work in it.
  • Security
  • cost effiency
  • Time management - because everything is together
  • Pulling information to gain customer behavior
  • Giving limited access to non-technical teams
  • Would like to implement new resources but need budget approval
I have used/administered Microsoft products for many years and I believe Azure is what all those past years were working toward.

Evaluating Microsoft Azure and Competitors

Yes - We used GitHub (private of course) for repos and recently switched to Azure
  • Scalability
  • Ease of Use
We didn't want to pay for another service if one we already had contained the ability
Cost should be looked at on the front end
