Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint or the primary endpoint protection suite coupled with our M365 and Intune. It is solving our endpoint protection use case and integrates nicely into 3rd party monitoring and SIEM products. Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, with the right M365 licensing level, is a very capable solution to solve endpoint security needs and is cost effective.

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint became available with Microsoft 365 E3 licensing. It was a perfect opportunity to phase out 3rd party endpoint protection in favor of cost savings. Implementation of was fairly straight forward and the solution integrates well into third party monitoring and security suites. Cost and cutting down on extra software were main drivers.
Our organization is using a slew of features in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. Along with endpoint protection, we are using Attack Surface Reduction Rules to protect our endpoints. We're also leveraging the Security admin center for great insights on our endpoints. It does a good job reporting patching needs, risk, and recommendations.
Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is protection roughly 170 endpoints today. This is a combination for Windows 11 endpoint, Windows Server endpoints and iOS/iPadOS endpoints. All of these are used by end users or to how documents and business applications inside our organization. It has been a good solution thus far and would recommend.
Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is the most cost effective solution considering our Microsoft 365 licensing status. While many 3rd party solutions are great and have been used over the years, in the non-profit world, cost is a huge driving factor of items. Coupled with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint being a solid solution year in and year out, it makes the most sense for us.

If you or your organization are using Microsoft 365 E3 licensing or higher, it's a very cost effective and smart solution to take advantage of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. While the solution is dependent on Intune enrollment for easy management, once setup, it works great. It's fairly easy to manage once you get the hang of it, although it is split between Intune and Security Admin center for insights.
