Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Entra ID
We use Entra ID to manage all of our identities and access management. That ties into active directory. So this is where people get access to certain groups that let them access apps and whatnot. And Entra ID is what helps us manage this.
Pros
- It helps us achieve lease privilege, so that's a huge security initiative for us. So making sure our employees don't have access to tools and applications that they shouldn't have access to. So ID helps us manage privileges and permissions.
Cons
- I think for us would love to just have a easier way to report on what users may have more permissions that they need. Maybe Entra ID could look at historic logs and user behavior and trends and figure out whether we should still give them those permissions or revoke them and take it back.
- It's had a really good ROI just, especially from a security perspective, because if any of my employees get breached and they have access to sensitive tools or data, it could cause a lot of havoc. So Entra ID helps us reduce their permissions.
Yes, so we have identities on-prem because our active directories, OnPrem, and then we're trying to move to the cloud in the future, hopefully one day. And then our deployment is pretty basic, so we get users or employees that join in Workday and they will get placed into specific active directory groups and Entra ID helps us navigate which groups they should belong in and which ones aren't fitted for them.
Yes. They secure over 600 plus apps for us because it ties into active directory. The groups that are associated with Active Directory in turn manage Okta, which is helps us with all of our suite of apps.
Right now the only SAS app we have connected to ID is Active directory and that is on-prem.
Yeah. It helps with automation like offboarding and onboarding employees, making sure they have access to the right groups. And then once they do leave the company, we make sure they're booted out of certain tools in a timely fashion.
We're a Microsoft Native shop, so we're looking at Okta's identity tool, SailPoint and a few other competitors of Venture id. And we decided to go with this one because we're already using Active Directory, so just using the native Microsoft Suites kind of just they integrate well with each other, so that's kind why we use 'em.
