Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI

My department uses Power BI for daily sales reports, ad hoc market insights reports, and customer behavior reports. There are other departments in the company that use Power BI, each of which have different purposes. For my department, Power BI gives us a single access point for up to the minute data.
  • Easy to build layouts.
  • Easy to understand fields (values, axis, etc.).
  • The support and development from Microsoft.
  • It can be a bit slow at times.
  • An option for pop-up tutorials would be nice. Perhaps it could recognize what you're working with and recommend something.
  • The back end can be fuzzy -- how to import data and keep it updated.
Power BI is really the only tool I've used for a purpose such as this. I have used Tableau, which is more capable from a data layout and computation perspective. However, Power BI has a simple interface, relatively quick learning curve, and ongoing support.
If you understand your data and it's clean, Power BI can help you make a great visual representation of it. However, if your data is questionable and if it is not formatted properly, Power BI may have some issues. It would be nice to have some data calculation abilities or plug-ins available.
