Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Publisher

Our organization uses Microsoft Publisher in several different ways. We track corporate agreements in Microsoft Publisher. We prepare publications and newsletters for employees and customers. Microsoft Publisher provides a unique tool for products and processes that other programs do not satisfy.

Pros

  • Allow a set of documents to be grouped together
  • Publish printed materials effectively
  • Track information

Cons

  • Some functions are inefficient
  • Missing flexibility with images
  • Allow for greater flexibility in print styles
  • Tracking document templates in Microsoft Publisher has made the process more efficient
  • Effective communication with clients and employees
  • Added design features
There are a few quirks with Microsoft Publisher that make some functions a little tricky for new users at first, but most of our employees are able to figure out the quirks and work around them to use the product for their job. It is relatively high on the scale of usability.
Microsoft Publisher is more predictable than Canva for more experienced users. There are fewer issues with someone having something unexpected happen. With that being said, Canva has advantages over Microsoft Publisher. They are two distinct programs with different strengths and weaknesses and I see them as complementary programs depending on the project.

Do you think Microsoft Publisher delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Publisher's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Publisher live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Microsoft Publisher go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Microsoft Publisher again?

Yes

Microsoft Publisher is a unique tool that is particularly useful for creating a document template that is easily adaptable. This is especially true for documents that have regular updates, but you desire a similar appearance and functionality. It does lack some functionality contained in other programs.
