Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Microsoft Visual Studio to develop an enterprise solution for damage prevention system. The system includes a web application, windows services, and mobile application. The system uses Microsoft SQL Server in the backend. The system tracks all ground digging activities and underground facilities to prevent the facilities from being damaged. The system also keeps track of damage incidences and analyzes them to better prevent future damages.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Intelligence is very helpful. It saves me a lot of time
GitHub CoPilot is very helpful in providing code templates
Debugging tools in Microsoft Visual Studio is very important.
Extension management makes it easier to use 3rd party extensions.

Cons

It has been slower to start a web application from Microsoft Visual Studio
Sometimes the project solution .vs folder becomes corrupted. We have to remove the folder for the code references to work correctly
It takes some time to build a solution that has 10 projects.

It saves time in coding
It provides good warning when the code is incorrect
It is easy to debug in Microsoft Visual Studio.

Usability

Over the many years I have been using Microsoft Visual Studio, I have not had any major issues with the development tool. It has been very helpful in providing code templates. The IntelliSense has been so helpful that I don't really have to remember any syntax. I have been able to have more time to solve our business specific problems.

Microsoft Visual Studio has worked very well for the development work I have been doing for many years. It is very easy to organize projects into a solution and build the solution for an enterprise solution that contains applications of different types. Microsoft Visual Studio handles project dependencies among the projects very well.
