Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Visual Studio Code
I use Microsoft Visual Studio Code primarily for PowerShell development for automation tasks. The integration with Github works similar to how it works with Visual Studio. It works with PowerShell 5 or 7 by changing the configuration of the in the settings.json file.
Pros
- Github integration
- Copilot chat
- IntelliSense
Cons
- Changing configuration could be clearer
- Performance sometimes lags
- It's free
- Blends into our Microsoft environment well.
- Familiar UI
I use Microsoft Visual Studio Code instead of Visual Studio because Microsoft Visual Studio Code supports PowerShell natively.
