Overall Satisfaction with Mimecast Advanced Email Security

We are a healthcare business and use Mimecast AE cloud to filter through our incoming emails and sniff out any Phishing & malicious emails that could cause our organization harm. Also, it notifies us of any outgoing emails that might have HIPPA violations and keeps our organization & Patients secure and protected.

Pros

  • Send a warning to administrators about HIPPA violations.
  • A holding tank for emails that might be suspicious so the Administration can release or block them.
  • An encryption feature to secure outgoing emails with critical information.

Cons

  • GUI is somewhat convoluted.
  • Some items are hard to find.
  • Can't determine the content & body of the held emails.
  • Our company has received much less Junk or malicious emails.
  • Granular reporting and configuration settings.
  • Can send short videos teaching users what to watch out for in suspicious emails & having to take short quizzes.
I gave it an eight because it can be challenging to navigate; otherwise, it gets a 10 on security and proactiveness. Having all config settings in one central portal allows us to get much more done in less time.
I'm not sure if the encryption feature would fall into this category, but I figured I'd comment on that. That feature is fantastic; no 3rd party to deal with, it works very easily, and you just need to add a short ***SEC in the subject line, It Definitely deserves a 10.

Mimecast has been good at holding suspicious emails for users who don't pay close attention and click on any emails, so these click-happy users don't put the company in harm's way. Also, it gives users the option to block, release, or allow specific emails.
