Overall Satisfaction with Miro
The product helps our team collaborate and brainstorm together live. We use it for product ideation, organizing questions for interviews, and brainstorming team policies. Our team is fully remote, so having this kind of tool that helps us interact live is essential to facilitate natural interaction. Our success using Miro has led to licenses being purchased across our IT org.
Pros
- Architecture Diagrams - We have used Miro to map out software architecture using the custom icons Miro provides.
- Lag-free real time interaction - Cursors for many team members are smooth and up to date when we are all collaborating on the same document.
- Miro also has many integrations with project management tools that are helpful.
Cons
- I have found dragging arrows between items in a flow chart to be error prone and hard to click in the right area.
- Creating shapes for text and shapes for background layers often means it is difficult to maintain one shape consistently in the background.
- There are multiple kinds of sticky note stacks which could be simplified.
- It has become our go to collaboration tool, replacing 3 others we had tried.
- It has sped up our product ideation sessions.
- It has made our interview prep 2x faster
Sticky notes, Cloud service Icons, and live editing by multiple people have been the features that have impacted my day to day most. They have helped me communicate visually with my team.
