Overall Satisfaction with Motive

We use motive to track drivers and for E-logs. This helps us determine timing for deliveries and track mileage for maintenance purposes.

  • Dash cam has helped with 2 auto accidents so far
  • The phone app works great to monitor from anywhere
  • Driver scores seem accurate. However, it can lead to angry drivers if they don't agree with their score
Chat is very fast for most problems. Any more complex problems usually result in getting passed to a different department and waiting for a response over email. Overall it is good though
We were able to integrate GPS and driver logs into one platform which saves time and money
Very few glitches. When we run out of provided wifi things can become difficult if we cant see our drivers hours of service to determine how many hours they have left in the day
We used live view GPS before. There are definitely more features with motive.

Motive works well for tracking drivers and for E-logs. My only real complaint is that it needs wifi to work. We purchassed tablets for the trucks and many of our drivers are not tech savy enough to maintain a hotspot from their phones. Their included wifi runs out very fast and then we cannnot properly view their logs once it runs out.

The only negative, but its a fairly big one is the complications needing a data/wifi connection has caused

Evaluating Motive and Competitors

Yes - We replaced Live View GPS. We liked that this one was able to replace that and integrate E-logging

Everything on one app.
We would look for a system with a dedicated panel in the truck for drivers to use for log books. Tablets were fairly expensive and are reliant on data or wifi. Our old system had unit installed in the truck that just worked, no connecting to wifi or learning curves

When we were first getting started we were given a dedicated rep to help us with set up and answer any questions. This was a nice touch
