Overall Satisfaction with Moz

Moz is used to evaluate the overall health of our clients' websites. We are able to monitor backlinks, internal linking, social endorsements/shares, authority metrics and so much more! By building an overall profile of a website, we are able to better and more clearly define strengths and weaknesses--if a site isn't performing well, we are able to figure out why.
  • Open Site Explorer -- an awesome resource for building a better understanding of a site's link profile. This is definitely my most-used Moz feature and the best link analysis tool out there!
  • Fresh Web Explorer -- in SEO, we can forget about the importance of brand mentions. This is a recently discovered tool that I have added to my monthly reports to give my clients' a more complete picture.
  • I wish there was a better way to sort/filter results from inbound links within Open Site Explorer. For example, I'd love to be able to filter out internal inbound links from main navigation bars.
  • While Open Site does provide some social signals, I wish the information was more complete. Currently, there is only a snapshot beneath "Top Pages."
  • Moz makes building a link profile and subsequent link analysis a much easier, faster process. We are able to pinpoint what a client is doing right (or wrong!) much quicker than with other metrics. By spotting problem areas sooner, we are able to rectify the situation faster (much to the clients' delight).
  • If a client has a question about competitors, we are able to quickly pull up a comparison chart on some of the most important metrics. This can emphasize how well our efforts are working or how far we have to go.
I consider Moz the most accurate service in terms of rankings, links, and authority metrics. More often than not, Moz's information reflects what we see on the search engines while other products have a much larger margin of error.
Simply said, the information Moz supplies is invaluable to our SEO efforts. Additionally, we are very interested in the new Local Moz offering and are considering adding that to our package.
Honestly, every SEO professional needs to use Moz in some capacity. It is incredibly well-suited for link analysis and measuring authority metrics--both critical areas of SEO. However, if you are more focused on the "content marketing" side of SEO, I would recommend other resources with more content-related tools.
