Overall Satisfaction with Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox is used as our alternative testing browser for validating our ERP and various web applications. The rendering engine helps troubleshoot very tricky issues we couldn't debug otherwise with Chromium engines. Things like animation adjustments, JS stepping, network and cache inspection, and CSS rendering on mobile and various screen resolutions.

Pros

  • Debugging
  • Video Playback
  • Customization

Cons

  • More Customizable UI Sizes
  • Vertical Tabs
  • AI Tools
  • Streamlined QA Process
  • Accessibility for Employees
  • Increased Code Coverage
Mozilla Firefox is significantly better than Chromium based browsers due to its relative UX design choices and better accessibility features. The fonts are easier to change, the toolbars are more customizable, it has good screen reader support with NVDA, and loads equally as quick (if not faster) on all our common websites and in-house applications.
Mozilla Firefox defeats all common web browsers for Windows and Linux environments in terms of accessibility features, customization, and debugging. Mozilla Firefox uses a different Javascript engine than Chrome, Brave, and Edge (which are all shared using Google's V8 engine) which enables all these advantages and behind the scenes features other competitors don't.

Would you buy Mozilla Firefox again?

Yes

Mozilla Firefox is hands-down the easiest to use web browser for troubleshooting web development adjacent issues and for certain employees who need assistance. We use it for handling network related issues as well as for users that have accessibility issues with certain websites. Mozilla Firefox has more accessibility tools built in than any other number of tools packaged with Mozilla Firefox.
