Overall Satisfaction with MS SharePoint

Mainly as our intranet which is being used company wide but also as a DMS and automation platform by very specific departments across our company.

Pros

  • Portal
  • Content management
  • Collaboration

Cons

  • Reporting
  • Automation of processes. Helps keeping track of tasks
  • Co-authoring helps to complete documents much faster
  • Ability to work on lists and libraries without locking content
It was a strategic decision to use Microsoft so SharePoint fit into the strategy.
Not so good for erp / mass transactions but perfect for less intensive processes and unstructured processes.
