Use Cases and Deployment Scope

From implementation it has been used to diagnose and find problems. We have been working sometime to operationalize the system into monitoring solution for all IT organizations within the company. With nG1 we have been able to baseline our applications which provides us the ability to do alerting and reporting to the appropriate group to look further into problems.

In this space, we wanted an end-to-end solution provided by one vendor.
Local support team and TAC have been instrumental in helping us provide this solution
Very responsive to new ideas to improve the product.

Pricing in this niche market is very high, hard for the little guy to take advantage of these solutions

Alternatives Considered

ExtraHop

Majority of vendors on the market at the time only handle a piece of network instrumentation. Netscout covered all the bases which meet our company's requirements for "One throat to choke" rule. For the market we are in its nice to have a local team that can be onsite the same day if needed.

Likelihood to Recommend

One of the primary focus we have is application visibility as data crosses the network. We have found several instances where latency was an issue, unknowingly and was able to take corrective action.

Using this tool as a troubleshooting tool only is missing out on all the addons you get from a solution like this. Don't be tunnel visioned share the tool and get the most out of it.
