Nitro Productivity Suite is a great PDF editor & alternative to Adobe
Overall Satisfaction with Nitro Productivity Suite
All users in our corporate office use Nitro. We use it to view and edit PDF documents that we receive from our clients. We also convert PDF documents to MS Word documents when we have to share parts of those documents to employees, consultants, and others who do not have a PDF editor like Nitro.
Pros
- Editing PDF documents to complete blank forms
- Viewing PDF documents
- Converting PDF documents to MS Word
- Providing e-signature functionality
- Editing PDF documents to add page numbering
- Editing PDF documents to remove text
- Editing PDF documents to insert images
Cons
- The font choices could be better and more robust.
- Sometimes converting PDF documents to MS Word has formatting problems, like with some tables.
- Converting MS Word to PDF can be slow sometimes, meaning it is faster to save the MS Word document as a PDF than selecting the file for conversion using the Nitro PDF convert option.
- Positive - Cheaper than Adobe
- Positive - Allows us to modify PDF documents from our clients to submit our proposals.
- Positive - Allows us to convert PDF documents to MS Word to share with our consultants and others without a PDF editor who contributes to our proposals.
- Negative - Need to upgrade to get the latest features/versions unlike something like MS/Office 365 where we just get updates automatically and free for the monthly fee. Maybe they will or need to move to a subscription solution versus a product price.
- Adobe Acrobat DC and Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
I think Adobe is probably the best PDF solution since they essentially developed and own the PDF format, but Nitro is a very good alternative and is more competitively priced.
If our clients didn't use PDF documents or sent us everything in MS Word, then our Office 365 would be all we need. The ability to convert PDF to MS Word is critical for our needs so it pretty much Nitro or Adobe it seems.
