Overall Satisfaction with Nutanix AOS

It is currently running the business infrastructure and providing DR capabilities.
  • Manages workloads well.
  • Provides DR capabilities.
  • Simplicity of a virtual environment.
  • Anti Infinity rules for VMs - cmd line only.
  • VM pinning can cause issues with DR failover.
The support team all have in-depth knowledge of the system and provide excellent support.

Being in local government price is a major factor, however with the due diligence and ensuring we had independent 3rd party reviews we were very aware of what we were getting.
The product is designed with simplicity in mind. The vendors run Boot Camps where staff can go and get some hands on training and experience with AOS.
Over the older 3 Tier infrastructure, performance increase was excellent across the board but especially on Storage IO.
VxRail would have incurred extra costs that were not apparent in the original presentations from suppliers.
Moving to a Hyper Converged Infrastructure from a 3-Teir Architecture. The performance increase was tenfold.
