Overall Satisfaction with Okta
I use Okta in my organization to view my incentive statements , plan summary with detailed view on commission rates that include billable hours , service billings ,service revenue ,Global service rate table, Services CB over achievement and service revenue over achievement. Okta via Xactly docs intiates the workflow for awaiting approval task for which you also receives reminders to approve official documents of organization.
Pros
- Login process is single sign on which means if I login to Okta I access other official stuff like UKG, outlook , slack etc.
- Multifactor authentication that prevents from phishing for example employee is working from remote location and location is being changed system sends notification for 2 step verfication which is great feature .
- Automated HR to Employee workflows for approval .
Cons
- Reporting is average -risk of missing important stuff during audits.
- Sometimes I felt workflow is a bit slow
- MFA sometimes doesnt work as expected and you get to verify repititively
- With SSO we just need to login onces , instead of logging in multiple apps which is time consuming.
- IT onboarding process has reduced the time to atleast 30% with smooth system integration
- MFA will take care of any data breach happening which is a smaller step to see but plays a bigger role in RoI.
It totally depends on infrastructure of your business. Our company uses Okta as a mix of AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365 etc. which means we have to apply same security and policies throughout in single domain. Time has been saved alot productivity has been increased. Its also easy of manage everything at one place.
When we had our rollout of Okta it was to be honest a rollercoaster ride where team ran into challenges in integration of HR with other applications. With the help of support team who helped us in testing phase and their step by step guidance have excelled us through our tough time and now we have happy -we work everyday smoothly using Okta.
All I say here is consistency with which Okta has helped us in avoiding downtime because even a short outage could effect sales and support team who are handled jira tickets. IT risk has been lowered down to a great level as we don't encounter any more login issues and focus more on productivity.
Okta over UKG Pro choosen just for simple and straight forward reason is SSO/MFA login ,security is been taken care. We have automated onboarding with Okta where UKG I feel is more inclined towards payroll stuff. So in all Okta offers flexibility where I can use multiple application with single login.
