Overall Satisfaction with OneDrive

I use OneDrive for a nonprofit organization that is completely volunteer-based. There were 7 main people the last time I checked, plus 20 partnerships, that are mainly spread out all over the East Coast and the South.

OneDrive was a great investment for us so that we were able to share documents and information that anyone could add to or use for their presentations and cases. My role in this is promotion on social media and facilitating communication, and OneDrive was amazing so that if there was an event being hosted or an online conference, fellow head volunteers could upload summaries and pictures for me to then organize and post almost immediately.

This also cut out many communication barriers, as the majority of us are deaf or hard-of-hearing with different communication preferences (speaking, ASL, tactile ASL, etc) or other full-time jobs on top of our responsibilities that made meetings nearly impossible.
  • Real-Time Collaboration
  • Accessible anywhere with internet access
  • Password Protected
  • Great for those who learn via reading/writing things down
  • Does not translate well for our people that use screen readers.
  • Also does not translate well to Braille, or back into text. We've had issues where words would be jumbled up into gibberish.
  • Will sometimes freeze, or lag behind if more than 3 people are viewing/editing a document at once.
  • We have been able to agree on specific goals.
  • It has been easier to stay up to date on budgeting, and as a result have saved hundreds of dollars in traveling and events.
OneDrive is very much suited for situations where information needs to be shared and constantly updated, but access is also limited to in certain cases (such as information about cases we are working on, or future events that are being planned).

It is not that appropriate for workers who do not understand boundaries, or how to filter necessary information. We have had to remind people also how to sign out, because they would save pictures and files not related to the organization.
