Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Team was used to work on Oracle DBMS and very skilled and highly practiced on it. Later in time, all were migrated to different Cloud service just for modernization. It was not very helpful and costs were very high. So again, with client permissions, we are slowly moving back to Oracle products and services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Pros

  • OCI DataBase Management
  • Looking for option for migrating Mongo collections
  • ML

Cons

  • More user friendly IAM
  • Performance goes down once in a Blue moon
  • Pipeline creation like Azure ADF
  • Cost effective
  • Code change turn around implementation are faster
  • Reliable services with almost zero downtime
9 because it goes down once in a Blue moon.
Right now we are evaluating the usage. Prima facie is that it will be game changer and we are supposed to start POC in next sprint. Can not put client details but on high level, clients are very excited to see if ML can predict areas of traction from where orders are created and not fulfilled either because of incomplete service or customer backed off.

Evaluating Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Competitors

Yes - Azure ADF, Synapse
  • Ease of Use
  • Other
Price
We work as contractors for clients so their criteria was limited to reduced cost but we were thrilled for simplified work process.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Support

ProsCons
Good followup
Knowledgeable team
Kept well informed
Support cares about my success
Quick Initial Response
None
My project is for monthly payouts and some delay is acceptable, however, not expected at first place so the client decided not to opt.
Our Infra team was not able to make a connection hook. After many tries, it was decided to ask Oracle. They failed initially too but brought solutions without followups.
For low, priority. Immediate support does not give any solution.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Reliability

I have not faced any problems yet.
I have never experienced an outage, but sometimes it used to be slow, which gets solved automatically.
