Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Database 12c

We use Oracle Database 12c for our mission-critical databases. It's almost used 60% in our entire organization. Oracle Database 12c has lots of good features that make troubleshooting and diagnosis easy and reduces downtime to the business users.

Pros

  • Approximate Count Distinct.
  • In-Memory Column Store.

Cons

  • ConfigToolAllCommands
  • DBMS_DEBUG Package
  • Sharding
  • Database performance improved after migrating to 12cR1
  • Maintenance time decreased after migrating to 12cR1
  • Security improved after migrating to 12cR1

If we are using Oracle GoldenGate then Oracle Database 12c works very well if we are using Integrated Extract and IntegratedReplicat.

If we are using classic Extract and Replicat then Oracle 12c R1 is not a good option.
