Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Dyn Managed DNS

It is being used by the entire organization, as well as with our clients. The biggest purpose it serves is for some of our failover records in case of an ISP outage. That's where we get the largest value from. Without this, we would have some sites and remote locations that wouldn't function.

  • Speed
  • Usability
  • Creating new users and assigning permissions - this is very clunky and difficult. Even more so since the usernames changed a while back.
  • Site accessibility (again because of failover) has had the most significant impact.
It is just as powerful, but it lacks the AWS features that Route 53 has. But, that isn't something that Oracle Dyn Managed DNS can control.
I've only dealt with them one time, but they were extremely responsive. My support request wasn't because of an issue, it was just a question that I had.
It's a little clunky at times but not as bad as some others. The API offered is nice along with a community maintained power shell module.
We have 102 zones currently and are always adding more. The ease of use is a big plus. It's very easy to create everything you need and get to where you need in a few clicks. I have even started using the API and a powershell module to create/modify some records.
