Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Linux

Oracle Linux was recommended as a replacement for CentOS as that product was being deprecated. The initiative was taken to replace CentOS with Oracle Linux after a careful review of other Linux Distro available. Since the client has a large server farm of the LAMP stack, Oracle Linux was the best choice to be implemented to host their application. The Oracle Linux deployment was done via Terraform on Azure.
  • Automation of Deployment.
  • High Availability and Scalability.
  • Identity and Access Management Packages.
  • Core Kernel Reliability.
  • Better Documentation by Oracle Linux.
  • Most RPM packages are missing and need to be installed from external repositories.
  • Quicker Time to Market.
  • Lesser learning curve for existing CentOS admin team.
  • Minimal Migration Effort.
The time to respond has been very efficient. The community contribution is great as well.

MySQL, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), Microsoft Azure, NGINX
Oracle Linux is well suited for hosting LAMP stack applications on Cloud. I would recommend the product as a replacement for CentOS or Redhat Linux, as a more stable solution available in the market. Most of my Oracle Linux Deployments are on Microsoft Azure and I see that as the most preferred platform to host Oracle Linux.
