Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Linux

We are consulting many companies and governmental institutions. We install and recommend that our customers use Oracle Enterprise Linux for Oracle products (for Oracle Databases, middleware products). Oracle Linux is a free operating system without support, and also is compatible with Oracle products. It has Oracle-compatible packages and pre-defined settings.

If you are working with Oracle products, especially databases and middleware products, I strongly recommend using Oracle Linux as an operating system. It has many pre-defined packages for OS configuration; performance is very good. It is stable and consistent. However, you should know Linux is a Red Hat-based system and must be an administrator on configuration. Configuration is the key point of using the Oracle Linux system effectively.
