Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Linux
Oracle Linux is an open-source operating system which means that it is freely available for download and upgrade. It is an innovation to the market that delivers extreme performance, scalability, and reliability. It offers upgrades that are free of cost and doesn't require any downtime. It is widely used across the organization where we are replacing old windows database servers. It is quite easy to use.
Pros
- It is very easy to install.
- Stable.
- Compatibility with Oracle Applications
- Virtualization
Cons
- It doesn't have any good GUI.
- It have some bugs while updating the patches.
- Cost of licensing is a little but high.
- Technical knowledge is required.
- Saves cost since it's free.
- Enhances the power of decision making.
- Improves ROI.
Although most of the features of both the operating system i.e Fedora Linux and Oracle Linux are similar it is a more stable operating system. It offers powerful performance because of the stability and we are able to migrate our database servers very easily. With less amount of effort, we can achieve a greater performance because of the memory management that it offers internally. Also, it works well with Oracle Products.
