PitchBook review
Overall Satisfaction with PitchBook
Searches for funds investing in certain spaces, searches for startups in certain spaces. Looking up the amount and kinds of funding startups have received. PitchBook is generally my first stop when looking up a company. Their customer service is very fast too.
Pros
- customer service responsiveness
- comprehensiveness; it has information on most companies I look at
Cons
- market sizing, industry reports
- improved searching for specific industries - I have to spend a lot of time crafting the right and/or combination of keywords
- sometimes it has no information on a company
- More time efficient than looking up the information on other sources
It's a good first pass to learn about a company, and it's been helpful for some investor and company screenings. The quality of the data generally holds up well.
PitchBook is one of the best. More usable than Bloomberg Terminal though it has less information. It is similar to Crunchbase. CB Insights and AngelList have more lists of prominent companies in a field/specific search space.
