Overall Satisfaction with Planview Projectplace

Used primarily on my team for project management. It helps us create interactive project plans and timelines, including Gantt charts. It is used across a large portion of our organization by multiple teams. It's used across multiple hospitals in our health system. We only have employees in the United States and only English is used.
  • Kanban board layout for projects
  • Building a project plan gantt chart that can be edited easily
  • Easy to communicate with other users within the tool
  • Fewer email notifications for users who have been added to a workspace
  • Ability to support remote work
  • Keeps large groups of people working off of 1 up-to-date project plan (as opposed to having multiple versions of a project plan in a tool like Excel)

Do you think Planview ProjectPlace delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Planview ProjectPlace's feature set?

Yes

Did Planview ProjectPlace live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Planview ProjectPlace go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Planview ProjectPlace again?

Yes

I don't deal directly with Planview Projectplace often, but enjoyed their virtual conference and get invited to many webinars about the products. There seems to be a lot of support should I need it.
It takes some time to get familiar with the boards vs. plan section and to know which information should go in which view. The workspaces are a blank slate which is nice so that you can build in your own project plan template, but can also be intimidating when you're using the tool for the first time.
We used to build our project plan templates in Excel and Planview Projectplace is much easier because you're not worried about finding the correct (and latest) version of a saved document. The workspace is always up-to-date. I find storing documents in Planview Projectplace to be as easy as using a Microsoft Teams channel to store team documents.
Well-suited to strategic project management and staying organized as a team (assigning and tracking work). Not as well-suited for running a meeting and keeping an agenda, minutes, etc. I find that people working on projects with me where I use Planview Projectplace are happy to let me create the project plan in Planview Projectplace and keep track of progress there, but they don't always want to be added to the workspace themselves and get into the tool or receive notifications from the workspace.
