Overall Satisfaction with PrinterLogic
We have a complex printer setup. Different documents need to be printed to different output trays. Vasion Print allows me to set up the printers once in the admin console, and easily deploy the printers to clients without IT intervention. This has saved us many support hours since we no longer need to configure printers manually and test to ensure the configuration is the same each time.
Pros
- Printer Deployment, set the drivers and settings once and deploy consistently to all machines.
- Printer inventory. Easily check the IP and configuration. Make any changes needed and then sync to the client.
- Remote Printing. Allow users to print even when offsite without the use of a VPN.
Cons
- Some of the settings are not clean on what they do, better understanding of how PrinterLogic affects currently installed printers when deploying.
- Intune deployment. No documentation on how to deploy the client and extensions.
- Pricing can be steep. Tier based discounts exist, but need to purchase at least 250 queues.
- Reduced man hours required to support our users.
- Eliminated repetitive tasks of printer configuration and installation.
- Reduced time required to be on site for new printer deployments.
Vasion Print doesn't control the actual print queue, so all jobs stay local. The ability to easily deploy printers while keeping all print jobs local was a requirement which the competitors did not do as well.
