Overall Satisfaction with Vasion Print

We are using Vasion Print to manage all of our regional offices and project sites. With printers being scattered throughout all of our locations, this helps keep everything in one management view. Previously, we managed multiple print servers in different geographic locations. This caused administrative overhead with trying to ensure proper operation.

Pros

  • Managing user access rights
  • Data Management (import and export)
  • Scaling up or down depending on size of rollout

Cons

  • Not be so heavily reliant on a browser plugin. In restrictive security environments, a lot of work had to be done to ensure it worked right.
  • Providing more real world examples of successful deployments
  • Look at why Type4 Printer Drivers cannot be used
  • The self service portal is a time-saver for field workers. They can choose which printers they wish to use.
  • We were able to remove all of our print servers, saving on hardware costs.
  • The learning curve can be difficult for users at first with adapting to how to self-manage their printers.

Do you think Vasion Print delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Vasion Print's feature set?

Yes

Did Vasion Print live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Vasion Print go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Vasion Print again?

Yes

Vasion Print is a product that you get out of it what you put in. There are many features available to you to aid with setting it up, but the task can also be daunting depending on your current environment. With single printers spread out over many subnets, it can seem tedious to set up discovery tasks to find these devices, then format them in a way to import into Vasion Print. Once built, Vasion Print is easy to roll out depending on if you use Subnets or user assignments to map printers.
