Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to quickly and simply install printers for users with less assistance from IT support. It is quicker than a print server and more centralized than having to add printers individually. The self-service portal is also helpful for what we are looking for. We will explore more features later.

Pros and Cons

Pros

We can put printers on a map to install exactly where they are, rather than by remembering the name of the printer.
Self-service portal.
Allowing certain printers for only certain groups of people.

Cons

Allow options for printer installs for the same printer, like b/w vs. color.
Pre-add codes for printing.
Simpler than using the taskbar.

Return on Investment

We're still early in the process to tell.
So far there is a lot of excitement.
We hope to have more data in the next few months.

I would not spend the money if you do not have any issues currently deploying printers. However, this works well for any number of printers where you are looking for a more self-service option or where users are having problems printing now and/or you want to limit IT intervention.
