Vasion Print, one of the few products to live up to and surpass expectations.
Overall Satisfaction with Vasion Print
We were able to eliminate our old local print servers and buggy PaperCut program. We were getting constant helpdesk calls about printer issues.
Pros
- centralized management
- good reporting
- totally transparent to the end user
Cons
- adding multiple printers to a group has to be done one by one
- SNMP status doesn't work the best
- would be nice to be able to customize reports more
- less headache for the end user
- significantly less helpdesk calls
- very scalable

Evaluating Vasion Print and Competitors
Yes - Papercut. The papercut service would randomly stop running, ususally if people had not rebooted their pc in a bit, and so they would call the helpdesk because they couldnt print. No matter how many updates of paercut we installed, it just always would crash for people. Causes headaches for not only the end users, but also for the helpdesk team.
- Ease of Use
We needed something that would make our life on the helpdesk easier and this definitely did. Even the migration process for 150 printers was very painless.
I would not change anything. I heard about Vasion Print from a group on Reddit and had a great demo with them. From there, everything fell into place.
