Overall Satisfaction with PrinterLogic

Using PrinterLogic to manage all of our printing needs without having a print server anymore. We were constantly having the print server crash causing user frustration and a lot of IT support on our end. Adding PrinterLogic resolved all of these issues by taking away the need for a print server. It just works.
  • Installs Printers Locally
  • Great Technical Support / Implementation Support
  • Managing printer functions and setup
  • Removes the need for a print server
  • Needs a better way to uninstall old printers that were not installed via PrinterLogic
  • It hasen't saved us any money, but I wasn't expecting it to. It has saved us a time of work and time though.
  • Less down time for staff when the print server would go offline
We liked PrinterLogic the best because it seemed easy to use, was cost-competitive, and had a way (although not great) to remove old printers that were installed from the print server. From what I remember in the demos, the user interface and setup seemed easier than some other products we demoed.

It's great for any business struggling with print servers and deployment. Group policy was always a disaster for deploying printers and PrinterLogic just works. It's easy to deploy printers and has saved our IT team a ton of time and frustration between the deployment and the need for a print server.

Using PrinterLogic

75 - The entire agency uses PrinterLogic from finance to operations, to administrative assistants and it works great.
2 - Very minimal skills. We have two full-time IT staff, one of which is the lead on PrinterLogic. It was super easy to learn and manage. It's mostly a set-it-and-forget-it - at this point, we rarely need to go into the interface or make any changes.
  • No need for a print server that kept crashing
  • Group Policy was a pain to deploy printers correctly
  • Staff was frustrated by all the issues they had printing
  • Worked great for deploying printers in our other buildings
  • Can add and remove printers on the fly
  • Able to only have a few specific users with access to our large format printer
  • Will be useful if we add an additional locations
  • We can set up the same printer with different configurations
  • Easy to force printer to use black and white instead of color
Hands down one of our best investments for our IT staff. This has saved so much time and frustration and it well worth the cost. If the budget starts to gets tight, this is one of the last things we would cut out. We also purchased this through our copy machine vendor so it's nice that the charge is integrated with our copy machines lease.

Evaluating PrinterLogic and Competitors

  • Ease of Use
  • Other
Cost was a large factor, however it was cost competitive with many other products we demoed. This product won us over by it simplistic interface and features. The ability to no longer need a print server or using group policy for deployment was the leading deciding factor for our purchase.
I don't know that we would make any changes. We probably would ask more questions about how the removal of old printers was handled as we struggled with that initially, but otherwise the setup and implementation went as expected.
