Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We at Comstock use Procore mostly in the field and on the project manager side. [We are] looking at the possibility of the use of their accounting side also. On the business side it solves the problem of subcontractors not getting their items to the office in a timely manner. There is the field use that is great for getting info back and forth quickly from the design team, office, subs, and back in the field itself.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Being able to link redlines to the drawing as they happen.
Being able to have all the building plans, specs, notes, changes, subs, contract documents, plus many more all in one spot.
The ability to print off a very clean set of Red Line Drawings to give to the owner when the project is closed out on.

Cons

On the mobile version if the pics were kept in the order they where taken, that would be nice.
Maybe more than two layers so we could do more punch items then only on the personal layer.

Alternatives Considered

I was not part of the project managers that tried out the different construction systems. With the meetings since we started company-wide with procore, we as superintendents and PMs [concur] that it was the best system for our total needs.

Likelihood to Recommend

When we were doing the shop drawings for the precast walls it went very smoothly on procore between multiple companies to get all items into the walls before production of the panels. That was the submittals, RFI, photo, and directory all within procore.
