Overall Satisfaction with Prophix
We currently use it for budgeting and forecasting and currently it is isolated within the accounting and finance department. The product helps me to easily configure data in a view that provides insight for stakeholders.
- Organization of data. We have multiple dimensions for the data, including markets, departments, employee type, etc. This tool helps us build multiple views relevant to our operations.
- The workflow manager keeps us on task when completing a forecast and is very helpful.
- The detailed planning manager is used for personnel and enables us to accurately forecast total employee costs for the year.
- The formatting in the template studio is somewhat clunky and inconsistent with what I'm used to in Excel. Formatting must be saved until the very last of the design because if something new is required in the template the formatting gets impacted.
- We are only a few months in, but seeing very positive results in terms of greater visibility and accountability across our cost centers. More work to be done, but I certainly see a lot of upside.
At this stage we are happy with on-premise, but a hybrid environment could work depending reporting requirements as we grow.
We ultimately chose price and function for our needs.
