Overall Satisfaction with Prophix

We use Prophix to manage our Budgeting and Forecasting. The problem we were having was that there were too many Excel documents flowing around, and version control was impossible. Prophix allows us to have one source of truth for all employees to look at. Once the data is uploaded, everyone knows where to find the most accurate data.

Pros

  • Security
  • Ad-hoc Reporting.

Cons

  • The UI could be better.
  • The processing time takes too long on most pages.
  • Faster quarterly forecasts.
  • Drill across has made it easier for managers to find and correct their numbers.

My understanding is that Prophix is much better suited for larger, more complex companies. Small non-profit companies may not be fully capable of using Prophix to its fullest. Prophix is very helpful when you have multiple entities and need to consolidate the information in a single system to present.
