Overall Satisfaction with Qlik Sense

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using QlikView nowadays in almost all our departments (Sales, Finance, Warehouse, Planning, IT, Management) for dashboarding, KPI's and other (scheduled) reports, but we are looking after Qlik Sense to find out if/when we go from QlikView to Qlik Sense. We are very satisfied with QlikView. We started to look at Qlik Sense because of the ability to use maps, scalability (desktop/tablet) and the self-service possibilities for our employees.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Use of maps (free).
Scalabilty (different devices).
Self service.
Living community.

Cons

Pixel-perfect dashboarding. Due to the scalability/ability to use on different devices, the place to put charts and tables on a pixel-perfect way is limited.
Look & feel is different from QlikView. I have to use it. I think if you start with Sense it is no problem, but when you are used to QlikView it could be a big step.

Return on Investment

I cannot quote any hard number, but QlikView saved us lots of time (compared to the use of Excel before, or compared to use only the operating systems itself instead of making the data alive in charts and graphs). I guess with Qlik Sense it would be the same, but as stated before, we still use QlikView and are looking for the benefits of a transition to Qlik Sense, (--> not decided yet)

Alternatives Considered

QlikView

We did not select Qlik Sense yet. QlikView does the job, still satisfying. But I think in the future we will be moving from QlikView to Qlik Sense.

Likelihood to Recommend

Qlik Sense is well suited for self-service and use of maps. For dashboarding I prefer QlikView, but overall the dual possibilities of Qlik are great. The community is a great place to seek and find everything about QlikView and Qlik Sense.
