Overall Satisfaction with Quick Base
The entirety of our organization uses it, and is a driving force behind our entire business. From generating documents to data analysis it is used frequently on a daily basis here. It allows for employees to communicate and see different data driven models, tables, and documents which are all necessary in order to make good business decisions.
- Document generating and easy access from Microsoft office programs.
- Easy to use interface, especially on the administrator side.
- Allowing for different roles to have different access throughout certain databases.
- GIS layers are a hassle to import, and cannot be shapefiles, must be KMZs.
Being a new employee for this company, I found out quickly that when a project is going on it is a necessity to create new applications on the fly. Through templates it really allows for you to create the apps on the spot and tweak them to the customers needs.
For non-technical developers, the initial process of understanding the inner workings of a quickbase application can be challenging. Although it is a rather simple user interface, learning the processes and methods in order to make different things happen within an application can take some time to truly understand.

I recently updated an old application from a previously existing job and rearranged the templates and forms in order to better meet the needs of the people creating documents from the app. It was enlightening to see that my work on the app was being put to use in a business scenario.
