Overall Satisfaction with QuickBase

We are using Quickbase (QB) on multiple projects to manage workflow and deliverables. In each of these projects, QB has allowed us to implement complex workflows, and multiple processes into one easy to use interface. We have found the support from QB, both directly and through vendors, to be very strong. Between that, and our own ability to set up the database, it has freed us from the constraints of traditional database development.
  • Ease of use
  • Consistent performance (site is rarely down or disabled)
  • Flexible development options, including scalability
  • Interface customization
QB has allowed us to quickly build out a complex workflow that users from all levels, admin to management can benefit from.
QB is much more customizable than SharePoint, and has a better UX.
To develop QB, a user must still possess a strong logical countenance. Engineers, architects, or HTML style programmers will have zero issues developing applications in QB. The truly useful bits of QB, such as auto-sequencing, formulas, and Java, still require a cursory knowledge of programming. As well, citizen developers, without any prior knowledge, can quickly make the system bulbous and unwieldy, which undermines the systems and assets that QB offers.
  • Building and deploying business applications faster
  • Improving our ability to drive insights from our data
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Solving a specific business challenge
I constantly update our QB applications. We have had no difficulty with this, and no loss of data.
Quickbase is well suited if you need an efficient database, and cannot afford a massive development team, because of either price or cost.

Quickbase is less well suited for projects that are so dynamic, and database becomes a hinderance rather than a benefit. There are still some projects that a good spreadsheet will operate just as efficiently on.

As well, there should be a dropbox style cloud storage system integrated. This would help quite a bit.
