Overall Satisfaction with QuickBase

Our company is using QuickBase as a tool to track projects and tasks and as a database. Currently, this program is being used by only our analytics department. As an entertainment company, we are in charge of creating, developing and launching apps on mobile devices, OTT devices, and websites. The apps allow users to watch videos on demand and on live tv. Our department is creating analytics requirements and QA's the apps. For a stable workflow, we needed to have a tool which could track all our projects and tasks related to them. Also, we are putting all versions of analytic requirements to QuickBase so that we can track back all changes we made in the past.
  • QuickBase keeps track of all changes we make.
  • QuickBase allows multiple users to access the tool and be aware of all updates.
  • QuickBase is very agile and allows us to modify different features on the fly.
  • Sometimes users want to go to Quickbase and make updates, but it requires to click on the button 'edit' and after that - save.
  • Google Documents is the best example of a sheet which can be easily modified by multiple users.
  • It's impossible for now to see what changes were made to the document or project by different users.
For our internal purpose, we created two applications. It was not very difficult to create a skeleton of the app, but it was challenging to create an elaborate design and think about connections between different forms. Right now these apps are not exactly what we need, but they are pretty close to the main goal we wanted to achieve while creating the apps.
I, as a non-technical user, had difficulties at first to create formulas and set up relationships between different forms. The QuickBase community was a great help to me. I was reading about the same problems that people had and was applying the same logic to our apps. For some answers, for which I could not find on the community website, I was submitting tickets, which were resolved in less than one day. This is really impressive!
  • Building and deploying business applications faster
  • Improving our ability to drive insights from our data
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Solving a specific business challenge
  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
For the company needs I needed to create project management application. In order to achieve it, I went to the shared applications page and downloaded one application which was very close to our needs. This application had forms which were not in use by our company. Some forms I needed to modify. Additionally, we had a call with representatives from QuickBase, which told me to create an application from scratch. Well, if I was technically savvy, I could do it without any problem, which I eventually did with the different application later. But if you don't have any knowledge in this program or don't know anything about relational databases, creating an application from the beginning is a very difficult task.
QuickBase is perfectly suited for accountants and financiers. They do no ask to modify forms very often and they don't need agile boards for their work. The tool might be less useful for such departments as project management departments. IT teams can find it useful as well, but JIRA already has better functionality to track bugs or user tasks.
