Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write
We use Read&Write as an assitive technology option for staff and students. It is available across all networked computers. it was obtained specifically to support students with SpLDs, in particular it is used by students in exams in place of a human reader. However it ia also useful for students where english is a second language.
Pros
- provides an easy option or students who require specific adjustments to things like screen colour, font size etc
- allows easier access to long academic documents.
- makes online reseacrh easier
Cons
- I'd like to be able to see how many of our students are using the software
- we no longer have to arrange exam support workers which has eased burden on exam team as well as saving money
- All students have access to this regardless of if they have a disability which is great for inclusion
Students and staff can access the software from any networked computer
Students can use Read & Write in exams which has reduced admin burden for team and increased inclusivity
It is vitally important that we support al of our students to achive their potential, and not be held back.
