Red Hat OpenShift [...]
Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat OpenShift
The Red Hat OpenShift is used to run microsservices responsible for integrating our systems around the world and our SAP. We currently have two instances of Red Hat OpenShift, one running in Azure (ARO) and another one running on premises to establish data transfer between our factories with MESS systems and SAP. We keep also B2B to manage services along the railroad that we use.
Pros
- System Integration
- Microssevices Management
- Fast CI/CD Integration
Cons
- DevOps
- Systems Integration
- Software development modernization
- Fast Development
- Free to choose how to develop our services
- Multi-Cloud platform
I think that the platform allow us to be creative and not be stuck with owned services but at the same time we need o integrate with a another platform to have the entire environment monitored with good trace about errors and warnings. I know that the platform came with Prometheus and we can deliver with Grafana but could be more plug-in for the clients.
The Red Hat OpenShift allows us to have the same tools in different environments and this helps a lot when we need to hire and train new people. It's very helpful to also know that we can work across any cloud provider in the same way without needing new capabilities or skills. It provides us saving when creating teams.
