Overall Satisfaction with RingCentral MVP

RingEX was implemented in our organization this year to replace the multiple forms of communication that we previously had. Now, our entire company uses RingEX as a means of both external and internal communication, which means we use both RingEX Meetings and Glip (RingEX's Slack-like counterpart). From my understanding, the goal in using the software was to have one central form of communication to improve accessibility and capabilities.
  • Accessibility. RingEX makes your desktop/mobile your work phone, so you can be accessed from anywhere at anytime. The app and desktop software can also be rerouted to your cellphone.
  • Sound quality. Out of all of the communication software I've ever used, nothing quite picks up sound like RingEX. It's clear, focused—some would say it picks up even too much sound.
  • Form of communication. Depending on your organization's needs, RingEX offers multiple forms of communication (phone, text, chats, video, etc.)
  • The app. I am one of those people who likes to separate work from my personal life, and unfortunately I can only download and use the app if I have my personal phone number connected, even though my work phone is associated with a different line. The result is that my work calls get routed to my cellphone, which feels like an invasion of privacy. I have resorted to forgoing the app altogether.
  • Connectivity issues. This is common for many communication tools, though when our organization started with RingEX, there were many kinks internal to the software that needed to be worked out prior to its use. And, months later, it feels like we still haven't 100% adjusted. (Maybe 90%; so close, but not complete.)
  • Multiple platforms. I would prefer one centralized communication platform that houses all of my communication needs. Instead, our team has RingEX Meetings, Glip and a RingEX widget hooked up to my email (that always kicks me out of my account, no less!). At times it can feel like too many tabs are open.
  • I would say that RingEX makes everyone more accessible to one another. The tool has an employee directory that instinctively pairs you with the right people when you need it. For larger companies, this feature can save time (and therefore money) when trying to reach people across different departments and teams.
  • Because RingEX acts as a work phone, and its ease of use is simple and makes you more accessible to clients, etc., you could also argue that it helps strengthen client relationships.
  • BlueJeans, Skype, Skype for Business (formerly Lync), Slack and Google Hangouts
In my experience, I think RingEX has been the largest overarching communication software I've used. For good or bad, it's also made me a lot more accessible both to my colleagues and clients. I also think it offers better communication quality and ease of use than the other tools I have used.
RingEX is great for one overarching communication platform. If your business requires text, phone calls, video, whatever—RingEX can help you. That said, being that accessible can feel invasive at times. If you're looking for a communication tool that is less expansive, or don't need all of its features, I'd go with a simpler platform.
