Overall Satisfaction with RingCentral Meetings
RingCentral is being used across the entire organization. It serves purposes related to meeting organization, remote and onsite virtual meetings, virtual interviews for remote candidates and remote managers, "instant messaging" between employees internally, file sharing, company phone, remote collaboration, screen sharing, etc. Its main value add is that it streamlines and connects remote and onsite workers and creates a centralized and reliable platform for everyone to use since over 1/3 of our workforce is remote.
Pros
- Instant messaging features are pretty plentiful and user-friendly for the most part. It makes a quick question easier to do versus writing a long email, etc. It also adds a little fun to it with emojis and the different gif options if offers you.
- Remote collaboration, like virtual interviews, are easy as well. You just add a RingCentral meeting to the body of the email or invite and you click or dial in on it and you are in. The code is readily available and visible as well.
Cons
- The current concurrency for remote employees is only 100. After 100, no one else can log in and I think this is a downfall because if your company is large and has a large percentage of remote staff, we can't really leverage this tool fully so a patch update to respond to this would be ideal.
- Some smaller detail-oriented items can leave something to be desired i.e. updating your status within the chat window is cumbersome and not very straightforward. Also, sometimes window sizing and positioning can be annoying as well.
- It has had a positive impact. We replaced an archaic solution with a more modern, streamlined version or product. Like anything else, it has its downfalls and isn't perfect, but overall it's been a good product and has outshined its predecessors like Zoom and Skype.
- It also has an integrated office phone feature which has been great as our phones are essentially our laptops. It cut down on those costs and in general freed up space on our desks since we didn't have to have them anymore and everything is on our computer now.
- Zoom, Skype for Business (formerly Lync) and Adobe Connect
Ring Central is a more comprehensive and streamlined solution compared to the other options out there. Additionally, it seems to be more reliable and has less breakdown or issues as well. It allows you to do many of the same capabilities as the other rival products out there, but it can do them all in one solution and is more reliable as well. I would recommend RingCentral over the others.
