Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We manage all of our development and construction projects in Sage Intacct. The great things are that we can track our budgets and actuals, pay invoices and have the reporting we need.

Sage Intacct Automation

This is more on the accounting end where I am more on the purchasing/job end but I do believe this to be operating well other than the job contract function.

Sage Intacct personnel did the actual configuration but I was a huge part of the implementation meetings. I honestly felt like the implementation could have been handled better. Although we went live Sept 1st, our data was not truly imported until 2-4 weeks later.

Alternatives Considered

I found the JD Edwards E1 to be more user friendly and had less hiccups overall. I believe Sage Intacct has a lot of promise. I have a list of input that I am going to provide to our contact on how this could be made better.

Likelihood to Recommend

The majority of Sage Intacct works well for us entering and tracking budgets and managing contracts as well as processing invoices.

I find the two biggest challenges to be the job contract and the change request/change order functions. They are labor intensive and especially with the job contract, the fact that does not show a full AIA for every invoice, only what is generated, is a huge issue. It makes this function not really valuable for us. We really only use it to pay back the projects, not for other things that I anticipated we would be able to use it for.

Sage Intacct has promise but some functions still need to be worked out.
