Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We'd been using Sage Intacct primarily as a bookkeeping tool, but have recently been restructuring our accounting dimensions to have a more robust picture of the company. Sage Intacct has the capacity to allow multiple department budgets with differing funding streams, and use of sub-dimensions will allow us to get multiple views of intersecting projects over time.

Pros

  • Create detailed reports
  • Potentially automating AP
  • Duplicating entries is a time-saver

Cons

  • Reporting can be difficult to set up
  • Small glitches with Vendor and Customer names on invoices
  • Consolidating the data from multiple departments has been very helpful to see the complete financial picture
We are currently in the process of reconfiguring our GL accounts and dimensions. Though I have not been an active participant in that process, I am told there has been helpful support at an extra cost.

Intacct can work best for organizations with complex and variable funding streams because the reporting feature can be crafted to show the financial picture through multiple lenses IF it's set up properly. As a non-profit, this is ideal for our agency, though I can see these types of features being less helpful at a for-profit, private company looking to track vendor expenses and simple revenue streams.
